Earthworms come up short on a proper heart, which by definition has different chambers. Or maybe, they have five sets of aortic curves.
The aortic curves work like a human heart. There are five sets of aortic curves, which have the duty of siphoning blood into the dorsal and ventral veins. The dorsal veins are liable for conveying blood to the front of the earthworm’s body. The ventral veins are liable for conveying blood to the rear of the earthworm’s body.
